IPC Section 87 - Acts Done Without Intention To Cause Death

IPC Section 87 states that - 

 

  • Any act that can cause death or serious hurt such that which is not in the knowledge of the doer, which is likely to cause death or grievous hurt, is not an offence.
  • If it is performed with the consent of a person who is over eighteen years of age.
  • Consent may be given by the person/performer in any manner expressed or implied.
