Punishment For Bigamy
It states that -
If someone is already married (Partner is alive) & again performs a marriage with someone, this marriage will be considered invalid.
He/She will get a punishment as per IPC Section 494 & 495.
Illustration
Let A is a person who is already married to B. After some time, A performs second marriage with C.
- B is alive & they have not taken any divorce from the court.
In this situation, the marriage between A & C will be considered invalid. 'A' will get the punishment as per IPC Section 494 & 495.
