Social media can properly be termed as a device of the confluence of knowledge. Except such a medium is more or less practised by people and few companies. The advantages of such a stage by the regulatory power to compare to the pieces and generate synergies among them have been insignificant. Nevertheless, companies have begun opting for methods to efficiently use these programs to design the range of commitment with the public and to involve all the stakeholders to produce management citizen-centric. In India, the tradition of using social media programs by the governmental auspices have obtained pace. In the Indian connection, the Ministry of External Affairs exceeded in managing these programs when it's Public Diplomacy (PD) division started its Twitter account on July 10, 2010.
The launch of such account announced a new account of government-stakeholder publications in India. At the instant, social media positions have accounts of traffic controllers, police stations, municipal enterprises and health companies etc. Holding in appearance the shortage of a guideline to support government organisations to use these programs as a channel of information, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India developed up with a ‘Framework and Guidelines for Use of Social Media for Governmental Organisations’ in September 2011.
The question which converts important to approach regarding such guideline is whether the creation of a guideline by itself is adequate to observe or there exists some companies to be regarded in this respect.

Many conclusions survive including, but not restricted to problems associated to permission to converse on behalf of department/agency, technologies and policies to use to report, the extent of the appointment, building synergies among various courses of information, agreement with current legislations etc. Hence, To support and empower government auspices to make use of this powerful tool of communication, a basic structure and guidelines for the management of Social Media by government companies in India have been formed. These guidelines will facilitate the various companies to design and execute their approach for the use of social media. The report will help them to produce an informed selection about the purpose, programs, support, etc. to match the necessity of communication with their various stakeholders.
The Social Media Guidelines for Government Based Organisations in India
In September 2011 the draft structure and guidelines for the management of social media for government regulations released. More lately, J. Satyanarayana, Secretary, Department of Electronics and IT lately mentioned that ‘keeping in mind the increasing request, the department will soon achieve the guidelines for all State and Central government authorities desiring to use social tool to communicate and get feedback from the public.’ He additional mentioned that social media is thought to have a good range and people are applied to it. So the government planned a draft framework for utilising the social media by different authorities will be distributed soon.
