What can I do if my parents are forcing me to take a divorce?

I converted from Hinduism to Islam to marry my girlfriend, but her parents opposed the marriage and allegedly forced us to separate. They have taken my conversion documents, and my girlfriend is now allegedly being kept away from me. We are both adults and not in a prohibited relationship. Can I approach the Calcutta High Court directly for a habeas corpus petition or other legal remedy?
