Special Marriage Act

Hi! I'm a foreigner with an Indian boyfriend who is also working here in my country. We are planning to get married in India under the Special Marriage Act, but we have some questions about the process. I have listed them below and I'm hoping you can help me. 1. He has been staying here for 2 years. Does he need to stay in India for 30 days before he can file a notice? According to what we found on the internet, at least one of the parties must have resided in that district for a minimum of 30 days prior to filing the notice. 2. Do I need to be present when filing the notice? 3. Do I need to stay in India for 30 days after filing the notice? Honestly, both of us cannot stay in India for more than 30 days since we cannot take such long absences from work.
